![]() Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Interesting enough, out of desperation (and this is dumb, i know), when the key was out, I took the tap off the fuse #5 and touched it to #6 and got a spark which makes me confused.īelow is the real install under my hood (the line to #5 is disconnected in lieu of figuring this out because i'm running out of fuses!) Given the diagram, does anyone know what I may have incorrect? I've tried the switching points at points #2 & #3 and no dice. The relay I have is a xscorpion amazon special (the 4 prong out the side unlike the 4 posts on top like the PAC200 or the IB-500, but i believe the concept is the same). I've tapped that fuse because its supposed to enable the relay to close thus charge that 2nd battery but that's clearly not working. Adding that to that, (after finally having a moment to check what's going on) I notice that the 10A fuse at point #5 on the diagram is always popping on key turn. This is my dual battery relay setup and I've noticed that I'm needing to put my aux battery on a charger about once a week which tells me the relay isn't actually working. Does not create a voltage drop to the second battery like conventional isolators. Lengthens battery life by preventing your two batteries from charging and draining each other. Great for isolating a second batter making it dedicated to the stereo system. r/electricvehicles - For electric vehicles Product Details: Microprocessor-Controlled 200 Amp, Dual Sensing Smart Relay Battery Isolator. r/diyaudio - Audio Projects & talk For the DIY'er r/soundsystem - PA's, Concert Rigs, Road Gear r/hometheater - For the HomeTheater lovers r/audiophile - Strictly High Fidelity discussion r/CarAVvendors - CarAV vendor info/deals r/CarAVclassifieds - CarAV's trading hub Please remember to restrict product promotion posts to 10% or less of your total combined self and link posts as per reddit spam guidelines. It works great and I don't have to remember to turn a switch and it doesn't allow my alternator to be over worked.Heads, Subs, EQs, etc. It is very small unit and marine approved so it can handle moisture and vibration. When I shut outboard off as soon as the voltage drops to 12.8 volts the isolator disconnects the two batteries. When I start my outboard the isolator allows starter battery to reach full charge 13.3 volts before it connect second battery for charging. Also connected the isolator and both batteries to a common ground and it was finished. Simply mounted in next to my starter battery ran a cable from the start battery positive terminal to the isolator terminal "A" then another cable from isolator terminal "B" to the second battery. The nice thing is that I didn't have to connect it to the alternator or the ignition. ![]() It is completely automatic and isolates the battery when a charging source isn't available. They were a little higher priced so I shopped around and found it on craigslist. ![]() Simplest install available and I bought it online just google it or you can find it on the DIY website. Very simple solution that I used is an AOPEC Smart Battery Isolator. ![]()
